Jess Cameron, originally from the Gold Coast and now based in Brisbane, is a versatile musician whose journey began at the age of 8 with the violin, which she played for nearly a decade. At 12, she transitioned to the double bass before delving into electric bass at 14. Jess has become a notable figure in the Australian music scene, lending her talents to various acts such as Hope D, FELIVAND, Platonic Sex, and Clovo.

Her musical influences are diverse, ranging from the experimental sounds of Kendrick Lamar's "Untitled" album to the soulful grooves of D'Angelo's "Voodoo," particularly inspired by Pino Palladino's bass lines. Drawing from artists like Tom Misch and Yussef Dayes, as well as jazz greats such as Tom Driessler and Pino Palladino, Jess has crafted a unique playing style that blends elements of jazz, soul, and contemporary music.

Notably, Jess has performed on Triple J's Like A Version with FELIVAND in 2023, showcasing her talent to a wide audience. She has also graced the stages of renowned festivals such as St. Jerome's Laneway Festival, Groovin the Moo, Falls Festival, Party in the Paddock, solidifying her presence in the Australian music scene.

Additionally, Jess is known for her preference for flatwound strings, citing musicians like Adam Devonshire of IDLES and Saya Gray as inspirations. Her choice of strings, Rotosound RS775LD, contributes to her distinct sound and versatility as a bassist.
